2010 January Meeting Notes

*Due to a recent change in management at Gander Mountain there was a scheduling conflict for the Lodge and so the meeting was held at the camping section with camping chairs.

Meeting called to order by President at 7:40pm.

Old Business:

Last months Land Maintenance was canceled due to inclement weather.

New Business:

There has more vandalism at The Land. The main ESJA sign containing club info and rules had one post cut with an axe and the other post was pulled out of the ground. Police were unable to come out and meet us but a report was filed.

Land Maintenance will be this Sunday, January the 17th.

A letter is being drafted our neighbors at The Land explaining to them the occurrence of trespassing and vandalism. The letter will ask them for any possible assistance and it will be hand delivered at this Sunday's (Jan 17th) land maintenance.

Due to inclement weather we were unable to personally delivery toys to our adopted family, however the family's social worker delivered the toys on behalf of ESJA and SECU. According to Michelle the Social Worker was amazed by the amount of toys that were donated. All toys raised by ESJA were personally donated by members, no money was taken from club funds to pay for the toys.

On December 23rd Mark Sawinski delivered ESJA's $100 donation to the Food Bank.

The Christmas Party held December 12th was a great success. We had a good attendance, there was lots of great food and fun activities for everyone. Everyone attending donated toys to our adopted family and many also took part in a Secret Santa.

The monster truck show is this month the 29th and 30th. Based on past experiences we will probably not be contacted until a matter of days before the show but we should count on them needing our help. Volunteers will be needed Thursday night (the 28th), Friday the 29th, and Saturday the 30th. Guests of anyone who volunteers will receive VIP seating. Contact Marty (mdori) or any other BOD if you are interested in helping out.

Easternshorejeep.com is going to be revamped over the next few months. Dead links will be removed, information will be updated, and the club's new google calendar will be embedded onto the home page.

Dan Thornton, the new Event Coordinator has been working on planning club events well ahead of time. They are as follows:
March 13th and 14th, Delmarva Meet and greet, Land open house?
April 24th and 25th, Club mini show.
May 20th-23rd Hot Rod weekend in OC, Meet and greet
July 17th and 18th, PA Jeeps, Club booth
October 7th-10th End of summer cruise OC. Meet and greet? Regional Jeep meet?
September 18th and 19th, Club mini show.

We will be having a ride to Rausch Creeek February the 20th and 21st. Other clubs attending are New Jersey Jeep Association and Delaware Jeep Association.

The Land Competition was addressed. It will be a focus of the club this year. We plan on starting small and inviting neighboring clubs to gauge interest. Courses will be set up with the goal being to touch a cone, whoever reaches a cone in the shortest time wins.

Recent issues concerning Michael Ferrari and “Delmarva Crawlers” was addressed. Members can contact Marty (mdori) or any other BOD for more information.

The idea of a mail out list was proposed. There are some members that do not frequent the forum and so we will formulate and email list to send out to members and keep them updated.

The idea of a contact list was also proposed. A list will be made containing the names and contact information of all club members and will be distributed to club members.

Club shirts and sweatshirts are in! They are ready to pick up if you preordered and there are extras still for sale!
